Ikorodu Progressives Group (IKOPROG) on Monday asked former Lagos State House of Assembly member Lanre Odesanya to declare for Senate in Lagos East District.

The seat became vacant, following the death of Senator Bayo Osinowo.

Odesanya, a 52-year-old lawyer, graduated from the University of Lagos. He represented Ikorodu Constituency in the House between 2003 and 2007. He was a commissioner in the House of Assembly Commission.

Odesanya was the pioneer secretary of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organisation (BATCO), Ikorodu chapter.

A member of IKOPROG, Adisa Fskunmoju, said Odesanya is qualified to represent the district in the Senate because of his pedigree, experience and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
