The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reportedly cancelled the one-year mandatory programme of popular Nigeria singer, Davido.
It was learnt that this followed his inability to keep up with the provisions of the NYSC.
It will be recalled that despite being a member of the NYSC, Davido travelled outside Lagos State and also campaigned for the Peoples Democratic Party during the Osun election.
This was against section 31 of the NYSC Bye-Law (Revised 2011) which warned NYSC members not to engage in private practice.
Davido announced the cancellation of his service in a comment on Instagram.
Reacting to a post made by Adesegun Adeosun, Nigerian music promoter better known as Smade who just finished his three-week NYSC orientation program, and got a letter of recommendation, Davido wrote “Naso dem cancel my own”.
When contacted, the NYSC Coordinator in Lagos, Prince Mohammed Momoh, refused to speak on the matter.
